Last week the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) expanded its list of symptoms associated with COVID-19. These new symptoms include:
- Repeated shaking with chills,
- Muscle Pain,
- Sore Throat,
- New loss of sense of taste or smell
Employer policies or plans that address COVID-19 in the workplace need to be updated to include these new symptoms. This may also include revisiting paid leave policies under the new Families First Coronavirus Response Act. Proper signage should also be installed as many workers begin returning to the workplace
Employers should be sure to have a written communicable disease plan or policy that accounts for any symptoms identified by the CDC. If you do not have a policy, or if your current policy needs to be reviewed, we are happy to help.
