As Texas begins to open up more for business, more retailers are available for home deliveries. Whether you’re working from, homeschooling from home, or just staying home for safety, there are some things you can do to minimize your exposure to the coronavirus while accepting deliveries.
- Limit in-person contact.
- Make your payment over the phone or online when you order, removing the need to transfer money or your credit card to another person and back to you.
- Accept deliveries without person-to-person contact. Ask for deliveries to be left at a safe location outside of your home, such as at your mailbox or on your front porch, with no interaction with the delivery person. If you do come into contact with your delivery person or your gate attendant (if you have one), remember to maintain a 6-foot distance away.
- Wash your hands with soap and warm water for 20-30 seconds after accepting deliveries or when collecting mail. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
